You may since it will depend on the factors such as price/brand, since excluding fair wear and tear did the product lack durability under the sale of goods act 1979.
Warranties are not contractual as such, so you could still have recourse probably only in the courts. I would either get legal advice or write to the retailer stating the price paid, and how long you expected out of honesty the product to last.
