We have in the western world softened the punishments for the most horrendous crimes on the basis of mercy or the human rights of the victims.
Even life imprisonment does not mean what it says.
As robinsamuels says they commited these acts in the name of a religion that supposedly condones their action and rewards them for it.
I am increasingly purplexed by a system that puts the right of the criminal/terrorist before that of the victims of their actions.
Also it is worth noting that crime in Indonesia is far lower than anywhere in the UK, I wonder why.
As far as the families of the victims in this case, it does depend on the stance of the individual. All I can say is that if it was my kids or siblings that were killed or maimed then I would see no problem with their execution
