How long does it take for a creditor to register a charge against you if the case is already at the debt collector stage?
I am selling my property and wish to know if it will go through in time. I have every intentions of paying my creditors (each of which run into the thousands) but they have waited a while and the worst of them are at the debt collector stage. I wish to know if i have enough time for my house sale to complete (29th june) and if they can stop/interfere with the sale in any way or register a charge prior to the 29th. There have been no court dates etc set as of yet by any of my creditors.

Thanks

You should speak to a Debt Counseller at your local CAB, Law Centre or the solicitor handling the sale of your property.

Unless someone has put an inhibition on your house or unless they have any registered CCJ's or decrees against you at this stage, it's unlikely that you'll be troubled by these.

Don't fret too much about it. Once the sale has gone through you can use the free proceeds to pay off your creditors.
