Has the New Year influenced a new you?
Usually, I make my New Year's resolutions with a wry grin, knowing that I'll fail miserably:S

This year for some unknown reason I've felt the determination to carry out the changes needed to affirm my resolutions.
1) Exercise 3 times a week....I have done & feel toned & trimmed already!
2) Find positivity in everything I can....very zen I know but I'd started to constantly complain about the little things & knew that needed to change!

Have you found the determination to make those changes easier this year?

In a word ... No. I am looking forward to the year ahead but as for resolutions ... Nah, just not me.

Well done Sue, I never stick to them so have in general quit making them. This year under the influence of seasonal "spirits" and a close friend I resolved to make efforts to improve something in my life each day. Ever the optimist. I cant say in all truth I have stuck to it though I do make changes where needed.

This year is the first year ever I have NOT made resolutions. It is like being let out of nick

Instread, too busy being happy as a brush. Hope it lasts right through n, Whitsun, Flood warnings, Half term holidays, Easter, assorted Saints Days, High Days, Holidays....

Also it's the very first year that I haven't had to feel guilty, remorseful, or as weak as a second-rate fun-fair goldfish because I haven't broken any resolutions yet. Not even one! Brilliant!

Resloutions are just a traditional collective way to make yourself feel bad. Don't beat yourself up! Bin the beggars!

I like PK didn't make any this year as I too feel disheartened when I inevitably fail at the first hurdle.

It is very liberating though not having them in place and instead we have decided to eat more healthy but it is definately not a diet. We are also just going to enjoy what the year brings with vigour and verve so we don't get bogged down by everything. I'm just going to enjoy life as my nan's close shave with death two weeks ago showed me life is short and you are along time dead so I'm going to enjoy it whilst I can.

I've not made any, but I did enter the Great North Run again this year, so I'll have to do some training at some point :-)

I never make resolutions at New Year - it seems stupid. If you're going to resolve yourself to doing something, do it straight away. All this waiting until New Year rubbish is just putting it off.

Oh yes without a doubt, I have started the next stage of my life following a terrible 6 months, as some of the IQ'ers know, but it is a new year and a new start, life can only get better from here on in x

Not this year. I am finding it extremely difficult at the moment to break my smoking habit, as I am away from my family for a long time, and am very restless.

beeper_spryte answers:

yeah, but my resolutions didn't come into force bang on midnight, they're coming in gradually. it's like quitting smoking - cut down and down until when you stop it's not so bad... this is a gradual build up towards doing better.

i've done rather well really, laundry, dishes, lost 4lb (how, i do NOT know)...

long may it continue. at this rate the house will be tidy by wednesday.
