Thing that winds you up the most?
What really gets your goat?

wumpus answers:

The "just nip" brigade.

You know the sort; they have semi-flash cars like BMWs and Mercs and Range Rovers, and dump them in the most obstructing places while they "just nip" to the shops, or the cashpoint, or the kids into school.

OK, they're only blocking the entire road for a few minutes.
At best, it causes a traffic blockage and gets everybody else irate.
At worst, people die.

But it's never the "just nipper" who suffers - they quite happily climb back into their swankwagon and go on their way, oblivious to the havoc they have wreaked.

People who don't say thank you when you stand there holding a door for them and look at you like it is your job to hold it open for them.

Also people who never turn up on time and are usually 5 or 10 minutes late and give no explanation but then expect to get their full hour despite the fact that someone elses turn then becomes delayed. Punctuality is my biggest annoyance as it is only courteous to turn up on time when you have pre-arranged it.

People who base their 'facts' about a certain subject on personal opinion, and not hard proof. If someone already has it in their mind that they don't like something, for whatever reason, facts usually do nothing to dissuade them.

People who fear things that they do not, nor try, to understand. For example, homophobes and racists.

I did forget one. Ignorant racists who want to 're-paint' the White House depending on the color of the person occupying it.

NHS employees who seem to forget that they're there for the benefit of patients, and not the other way around. They are usually the ones who seem to have difficulty in understanding that the person who is receiving care is actually in poor health, and might not feel like putting up with their crap.

Adverts for accident compensation, balance transfer cheques from MBNA, people who throw litter out of their car, people who shout in the street, or guffaw loudly in restaurants for no reason other than ignorance ( you know, the ones that go 'aaAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!), the endless programmes about every aspect of Nazi Germany and its ultimate defeat, the excitement surrounding Doctor Who, which is a load of old claptrap anyway; listening to the news, to hear about the hurricane in Louisiana and being told that the main story is Kevin Keegan is leaving Newcastle; spiteful ex wives who never forgive and forget for the sake of their children; people who worry about whether the late Heath Ledger should get an Oscar; cars everywhere, queues in shops; people who go 'Alwroigghhhtt'; tins of corned beef that have to be hacked open when the strip to open it breaks.
