What does Wireless Freedom mean on a printer
Does it mean that the printer doesn't have to be plugged into the computer to print out what's on the screen?

If a printer has a wireless interface, it means that, if you have a wi-fi network, you can connect to the printer through the network. So, yes it doesn't have to be plugged directly in to the computer(s).

Once the printer is operational, go to 'Printers and Faxes' in the start menu (or from the control panel), select 'add a printer' and then select 'a network printer'.
