would it help to see my real face?
On the back of Wrestling fan´s question about perception, I wonder what difference it would make if we were reacting to people´s real faces instead of avatars. There have been questions about ´wht do you look like´and I have seen the real faces of various people. I wonder would you change the way you react, either asking or answering questions, if you saw a picture of the real person?
So, would you prefer me or the jackdaw?
asked in IQ members

Wahey, look at you JD you little cracker.

I don't think it would make any difference to me, I'm talking to someone's personality (or the one they put on here if that's different) and looks don't come in to it.

I already knew what you look like from when lots of members posted pictures of themselves in a previous question. Seeing your picture didn't actually change my perception of you because you already had seemed a really nice person, but it made you seem more real.
There have been one or two periods on iQ when there has been a lot of disagreements/ill feeling between members and I feel that if we all used our real photos as avatars this sort of thing would be less likely to happen. Although it has been a while since there's been a problem, anyway.
Anyway, nice as the jackdaw is, I vote for your photo as your avatar.

It certainly wouldn't and doesn't make a jot of difference to me what you look like,To my answers to you,Although i would have to say if you were 6ft5 with dark hair and blue eyes and built like a brick outhouse,It probably would as I do love a good flirt.
You sexy thang.

I like heels go from the personality rather than your actual look of members but do rather like to see what others look like. It for me makes me feel on a more intimate level rather than a mental image of members I have.

Doesn't change what I think about members though seeing them but just nice to put a face to the words.

They are right, you are quite the looker my dear! I echo the sentiments of all of the above users as I base my opinion, thoughts, and feelings of you on your personality and not your looks and/or gender. When I posted my picture people seemed a bit nicer and more accessible to me for some reason. Maybe it is the comforting fact that you have put your picture, as well as any physical flaws out there for everyone to see. I guess it makes people feel more comfortable talking to you as they truly know what you look like.

I love the new avatar, and if I took as good a photo as you do I might also use my pic as my avatar, but since I don't and I don't want to scare anyone I will sick to my butterfly for now :O)

Yes it is nice to see who you are communicating with but I don't think it is essential. I do think subconscious we react to real pics so it will influence how some people react to you even if it is on a subconscious level.
