How much electricity in kw hours does an Intercity 125 use on a journey from Kings Cross to Edinburgh?
As an additional question - can anybody also say how much this amount electricity would cost compared with the cost of the fuel for an equivalent diesel powered Intercity 125?

Some info in >>
InterCity 125 : (Power type = Diesel-electric)
is a brand name used to describe two Class 43 power cars with a rake of Mark 3 carriages between them to form a complete train. Both power cars operate at the same time, one pulling and one pushing.
Power output : Engine: 2,250 bhp (1,678 kW)

Depends on type/model, heating, ....
