If you get paid monthly and you get paid at the end of the month, are you entitiled to your pay early because of Christmas?

Supplement from 12/08/2008 06:54pm:
What i mean is, is the company you work for legally obliged to pay you before the 25th december?

asked in money, wages

robinsamuels answers:

Nope.

The date they must pay you is the one in your contract, or the one that has become binding through normal useage.

But, most companies pay early in December, though personally I found it very hard to get through Jan that way!

I've worked for quite a few companies in my time and every one has always paid December's salary before Christmas, although they were of course not legally obliged to.

all above are correct there is no legal requirement but there is a requirement that the pay be in the bank before the date of payment if it falls on a bank or public holiday so if she is payed 24/25/26/31 then they have a requirement to pay before hand
