Where does the tradition to make new Years resolutions come from and did anyone make any resolutions this year?
if you made them whats the chances of you keeping them based on previous years?

seacommander answers:

It would appear that the tradition may have originated in early Roman times around 153 BC

although another source suggests Babylon to be the origin

I'm sure many people have made resolutions; personally I have made none. I lead the perfect life!! Seriously though, I would doubt very much that I could keep them if I made any; so this way I won't disappoint myself.

Leohuberh answers:

Too often good intentions and resolutions turn out to be rather large failures and you may think less of yourself. This is not a good way to start a new year. Additionally, you own or your spouse's poor self-image can have a very negative impact on your marriage.
My old New Year's resolutions are:
Tame the bulge and quit drinking, smoking. Spend more time with family /friends (iQ).
