What does "snakes alive" (or "snake's alive") mean?
E. g. the lyrics of AC/DC's "Big Gun":

Terminators, Uzi makers
Shootin' up Hollywood
Snakes alive with a .45
Setting off and doing no good

I think you'll find that the exclamation is normally, "Sakes Alive!" http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=land+sakes+alive
But we have snake lollies here in Oz called Snakes Alive.
