What's the tallest structure in Asia? Since when?

asked in geography

imfeduptoo answers:

I believe it's Taipei 101, at 509 m.
The building was completed in 2003 and the antenna added later
It's the tallest building in Asia and with the addition of the antenna is the tallest structure.

Taipei 101 still has the highest "tip", but the Shanghai World Financial Centre allegedly has the highest top floor

According to this site, anyway. The Shanghai building was completed last year - quite surprising as I was there a couple of years ago and it was miles off completion, the benefit of a really cheap and easy to abuse labour force.
