Who is the most recent US president to feature on US banknotes? And who do you recommend becomes the next one?
-
I don't know what the criteria are for choosing which President has his portrait on the notes and which doesn't.

But who would you like to see on the bills?

Does it have to be a President? Can it be an 'ordinary' citizen? Lots of contenders spring to mind...

I'd say Martin Luther King, Bob Dylan, Elvis, Uncle Ed, Roy Rogers, Doris Day at a pinch...or even that JFK chap...

asked in money

vultan answers:

Ulysses S Grant is the most recent.

There's a bit about why people were chosen here:

(not much, though)

Only dead people can appear on money in America. If it was going to be another president, FDR is the logical choice. If not, maybe Frank Sinatra would be cool.

Sorry I forgot the picture.

Supplement from 02/20/2009 04:09pm:

Shoot that's the wrong US banknote picture. Anyway they have to change it much : In G we trust.

Supplement from 02/20/2009 04:11pm:

Sorry! That should be - they wouldn't have to change it much-.
